OPEC President: We Are Not Planning Oil Production Talks Before September
06/02/2008

OPEC President Chakib Khelil has reiterated that the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries would not make a decision on output policies before its next scheduled meeting in September.

Asked about current oil prices, Khelil, who is also the Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines, said that they do not reflect the market fundamentals but they are due to other factors linked to speculation, the subprime crisis and the dollar’s depreciation.
