Figures released by Jordan's Central Bureau of Statistics indicate that Iraq is the destination of 31% of Jordanian exports which totaled JD (Jordanian dinar) 424.2 million ($598.1 million) in the first 10 months of this year. The bureau further indicates that Jordanian exports to Iraq have been on the rise since 2003, reaching JD 607.5 million ($856.5 million) in 2009, compared with JD 574.3 million ($809.7 million) in 2008.
Other than oil, Iraq's exports to Jordan are negligible. On the other hand, Iraqis have invested JD 2 billion ($2.82 billion) in Jordan in a variety of sectors including hotels, tourism, airline services, the food industry, health and hospitals, and real estate development.
