The Egyptian minister of trade and industry announced that the technological component of the industrial sector in Egypt has risen to 40% as a result of the use of advanced technology by manufacturers. This increase was also reflected in an increase in the value added of industrial projects rising from 30% to 40%. [Value added serves as an indicator of development of a country.] The minister said the technological growth in the ministry has opened up 5,000 job opportunities in the areas of design and innovation in the industrial sector.
