Iraq has decided to deport by the end of this month all foreign workers, primarily Asians, who entered Iraq in 2003 without visas or labor permits. Subsequently, many more illegal workers came to Iraq to do manual work at low wages, averaging between $100 and $300 a month.
Iraq considers the deportation of expatriate works as an important step toward alleviating the unemployment problem.
