Qatar's total export earnings have been projected to exceed $90 billion this year on the back of huge liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments, Samba Financial Group has said in a report.
Overall, Samba expects Qatar's LNG exports to grow to more than $30 billion in 2011. Samba pointed out that "a combination of increased production and higher prices will ensure that Qatar's earnings from hydrocarbon exports continue to grow strongly."
Qatar is the largest LNG exporter in the world and in 2010 the country accounted for 25.5% of overall global LNG exports.
